Valvojan lausunto / Supervisory opinion

Lauantain keskimatkan radat ovat sähäkkää ja tarkkaa suunnistamista niin kuin pitääkin. Lyhyillä rastiväleillä kannattaa olla tarkkana lähtösuunnan kanssa. Kartalla olevat pienet notko-, nenä-, käyränmutka-, jyrkänteet ja pienet pistekumpareet olivat myös maastossa selkeästi havaittavissa. Kartoittajat ovat tehneet tarkkaa työtä ja ratamestari on uskaltanut valita ne myös rastipisteiksi. Lasten ja veteraanien radoista löytyy myös tarkkoja pisteitä.

Lauantain pitkämatkan radat tarjoavat myös sekä pitkiä rastivälejä ja reitinvalintamahdollisuuksia sekä tarkkaa suunnistamistakin.

Kaikkia vanhempia ja tuoreimpia hakkuu-uria, jotka häviävät nopeasti luonnosta, ei ole merkitty kartalle. Pääurat kyllä löytyvät kartalta. Kasvillisuuskuvaus on myös tarkka. Karttakuvaus on selkeä, yhtenäinen ja tasalaatuinen.

Maastossa on kuivaa. Myös suot ovat kuivuneet. Kevään kuivuus ja pitkä hellejakso näkyy ja tuntuu. Valvojan tossu ei kastunut kertaakaan, vaikka kiersin kaikki maastossa olevat 131 rastipistettä.

Tervetuloa myös  Naappilan  upeille tasaisille kallioille. Jostain korkealta saattaa myös vilahtaa näkymä  Längelmävedelle.

Saturday’s middle distance courses are fast-paced and precise orienteering as they should. With short legs you should be careful with the starting direction. The small re-entrant, nose, contour curve, cliffs and dot knoll features which are on the map are also clearly visible in the terrain. The mappers have done a meticulous job, and the course setter has also dared to choose them as control points. There are also accurate points on the children’s and veterans’ courses.

Saturday’s long distance courses also offer both long legs and route choice opportunities, as well as precise orienteering.

Some of the older and most recent logging trails, which are rapidly disappearing from the terrain, are not marked on the map. The main logging trails can be found on the map. The vegetation mapping is also accurate. In total the map is clear, coherent in terms of quality.

The terrain is dry. The marshes are also dried up. The dry and hot spring can be seen and felt in the terrain. The supervisor’s shoes didn’t get wet at all, even though I checked all the 131 controls in the terrain.

You are also welcome to the nice flat bare rock hills of Naappila. Somewhere on the top of the hills you might have a chance to get a view for lake Längelmävesi.
